What Does NFVF International Bursary Cover?

Bursaries will be provided for international postgraduate studies in Film or Television, excluding courses in Live Performance or Acting. The NFVF Bursary program aims to develop and enhance the skills of candidates pursuing a career in the film and TV industry.

The bursary will pay you for your tuition fees and living costs, but the total amount they provide won’t go over R280,000. If your expenses exceed that, you’ll need to cover the extra cost yourself.

Who Qualifies for the NFVF International Bursary?

Before submitting the application, make sure to satisfy NFVF Bursray qualifying criteria. If you fail to MEET the criteria, your application will not be considered. The following are the NFVF International Bursary:

  • Applicant must either be a South African citizen or permanent resident of South Africa.
  • Applicant must be enrolled in a full-time postgraduate Film or TV program that is not offered in South Africa, starting in September or October 2025.
  • Applicants must be registered at a recognized international tertiary institution.
  • You must submit your application at least 6 months before the course begins.
