Bursaries will be offered for studies in the Built Environment sector, focusing on the programs listed below at tertiary institutions in the Western Cape.

University Degree Studies:

  • Construction Studies (BSc)
  • Civil Engineering (BSc)
  • Construction Management (BSc Hons)
  • Quantity Surveying (BSc Hons)
  • Project Management (MSc)
  • Masters Studies (with a motivated application)
  • Other Built Environment-related fields

University of Technology National Diploma studies (excluding NSFAS-funded Programs):

  • Construction (Extended) (Diploma)
  • Construction (Diploma)
  • Construction (Advanced Diploma)
  • Construction Health & Safety (Advanced Diploma)
  • Quantity Surveying (Advanced Diploma)
  • Master of Construction
  • Other Built Environment-related fields

The bursary covers one academic year and may be renewed depending on satisfactory academic performance. Note that the bursary will only cover tuition fees, with payments made in two installments directly to the tertiary institution.

The first installment will be released upon funding approval, while the second will be disbursed based on a mid-year performance review. Successful candidates will receive notification by 14 February 2025 at the latest.

Who Qualifies for the MBAWC Bursary?

  • You must have obtained your Matric from a school in the Western Cape.

  • MBAWC member company employees and their family members will be prioritized.
  • Applicants employed by a memebr company compliant with the BIBC benefit system for at least 24 uninterrupted months will be given priority.
